Missing Hillary
I Miss Hillary Clinton. Granted, I was never a big supporter of the spirited New York Senator. However, I always felt confident in her ability to lead our country. She always seemed like a capable statesman, with problem solving skills and slick enough politics to get things done without being too corrupt. During the debates last Friday, I couldn’t help but think, Hillary would have come out with guns a blazin’. She would have shredded McCain to pieces. Very much in the same manner she took it to Obama in the Democratic Primary Debates. Like President Clinton, Senator Clinton handles herself and her politics with seriousness without a lot of rhetoric. Plain and simple facts hit squarely between the eyes. It’s my opinion that Barak Obama could use an injection of that.I’m really not sure that I’m ready for the Veep debates on Thursday. Biden is a great statesman as well. I know he’s a helluva lot smarter than most of the people I come in contact with on a daily basis (although they wouldn’t think so - just goes to show you). He does, at times, come across as kind of goofy. Because of this, I have a hard time taking him seriously. It will be interesting to see which Biden we get - the serious Senator or the wacky, yet likable, uncle. Maybe Uncle Joe’s train will get delayed and they’ll need a stand-in. Hillary would be a worthy understudy (or Cynthia Mckinney for that matter). Now that’s a debate I would like to see. The only question would be how long it would take before Sarah Palin went ran off the stage in tears. Why are we Democrats always wishing and wondering? Just replay last Friday’s debate. I’m hoping Obama puts in a call to Senator Clinton before the next debates. Either that, or he digs deep into his pockets and pulls out a backbone.
